BIOSTIMULATORS
Sculptra · Radiesse
Biostimulators are designed to work with your body—not simply add volume. Treatments such as Sculptra® and Radiesse® encourage your skin’s natural collagen production, helping improve firmness, structure, and overall facial fullness gradually over time.
Unlike traditional fillers that provide immediate volume, biostimulators create a more gradual, natural-looking transformation as your own collagen develops. They can be used to enhance areas such as the cheeks, temples, jawline, and other areas where volume and definition have changed over time.
Treatment Duration: 30-45 min.
Treatment Area: Cheeks, Temples, Jawline, Smile lines (nasolabial folds), Marionette lines, Chin
Frequently Asked Questions
While both can help restore a more youthful, refreshed appearance, they work differently. Traditional dermal fillers add volume directly, while biostimulators like Sculptra® and Radiesse® work by stimulating your body's natural collagen response.
The result is a gradual improvement in firmness, structure, and volume that develops over time.
Sculptra® results can last two years or more for many patients. Because Sculptra works by encouraging your own collagen production, results develop gradually and can continue to evolve over time.
Downtime is generally minimal. You may experience temporary swelling, redness, tenderness, or bruising at the injection sites. Most patients are able to return to their normal routine shortly after treatment, although your provider will give you personalized aftercare instructions.
Treatment plans are personalized based on your age, anatomy, skin quality, and aesthetic goals. Many patients receive a series of 2–3 treatments spaced several weeks apart, followed by maintenance treatments as recommended by your VIVO provider.
Biostimulators are a gradual treatment, so patience is part of the process. You may begin noticing subtle changes within the first several weeks, with results continuing to develop over the following 3–6 months as your body produces new collagen.
Not necessarily—and that's part of what makes biostimulators so appealing. Instead of creating an obvious, immediate change, they work gradually to improve your skin's underlying structure and support. The goal is for people to notice that you look refreshed, rested, and naturally rejuvenated, without being able to pinpoint exactly why.
